NCI was responsible for installing all of the fiber optic cable used to control a fully automated limestone surface mine in Arizona that was under construction. The project consisted of installing the fiber optic backbone cabling for eight separate networks. Each of the eight networks had a backbone cable looping a particular area of the complex with feeder cables being spliced to the backbone cable and branching off to serve the various limestone processing units.

 

Project Details

 

  • Installed new conduit for each feeder cable from splice point to termination point
  • Installed 10,000 feet of conduit and 51,000 feet of multimode fiber optic cable
  • 1,200 fusion splices and 1,500 connectors installed
